My name is Jacob Ramirez, I am 21 years old Photographer/Videographer based in San Antonio, Texas. I specialize in many different aspects of photography and videography but most notability sports, portraits, events, and real estate.
I been having a passion for creating content ever since I was little, when I use to make stop-motion videos with my legos on my Nintendo 3DS. (just like the one shown here)
I didn't fully exploit that passion until I got into high school, where I would make these "vlogs" with friends. Doing these vlogs is how peers started referring to me as "Vlogs of J". I wouldn't pick up an actual camera until after playing my senior year football season and entering the 4th year of being the softball manager for my high school, which is where I started taking pictures and making highlight videos.
After graduating from Judson High School in 2021, I decided to invest in my first professional camera and officially start my content creating career while using the name I was use to be referred to as and adding "productions" to it.
During my first year of college and my creative career, I was working at my local Chick fil a as a delivery driver. During this time, I found it very difficult to balance getting an education, work, and trying to make a name for myself in the creative world. After a while of showcasing my work to the world and building a clientele, I was receiving a ton of booking requests to shoot.
On one early 5:30am shift at Chick-fil-a, They had me making lemonade in the back of the store then suddenly I had a moment of realization, or an epiphany as some may call it, that I can pursue my creative talent full time so I can put more time and effort into my camera work and my education. After my shift that day, I went home to think about it and talk to my love ones then the very next day I made the decision to put in my week notice at Chick-fil-a and to go ALL-IN with the camera. At first, I was a little nervous to take this leap of faith but I can confidently now say that this decision was one of the best decisions of my life thus far.
Finally having more time to focus on my camera work, I was able to officially put together my portfolio and launch my website to the public. Not long after doing so, I was contacted by a local real-estate brokerage named Redbird Realty who wanted to meet with me about my work. They were very impressed with my work and we found out during our meeting that the Redbird Realty CEO, Jeff Garza, had a son who appeared on one of my sports videos couple months prior to this meet-up. After the meeting, Jeff decided to offer me a position as a production assistant for the company to help market the company and the REALTORS in the brokerage. I gladly accepted the role and I am forever grateful to this company who took a chance on a young 19-year-old starting at his very first production assistant job.
I graduated from Northeast Lakeview College in the Spring of 2023 to obtain my associates degree in Fine Arts. After graduating, I knew wherever I would transfer to, I would want to work in the sports media department as a student worker to gain the experience. Figuring out where I had the best connections, I decided to transfer to The University of Texas in San Antonio (UTSA) and apply to join the Rowdy Creative team. I was very blessed and thankful to receive the offer to join the team and I still get chills when I realize that I now work for D1 Athletic Program.
I am now entering my second year with The University of Texas in San Antonio (UTSA) to pursue a bachelor's degree in film/Media and I plan to graduate in the Fall of 2025. I am also entering my second year with the Rowdy Creative Team while still working as a production assistant with Redbird Realty. My overall goal in life is to go to the movie theater and see my name in the credits as a professional filmmaker or to work with a professional sports organization. I know the story is still being written and I thank God everyday for bringing me so far in my career.
